In 1998 came the first harvest of this work of art to lay the foundation for a new generation of cavas high expression and personality. One concern that had begun years ago and moved to winemaker Segura Viudas, Gabriel Suberviola, to produce a fermented Xarel·lo for cava and raised in oak barrels. The vineyard from which this Xarel·lo has more than 70 years and thanks to its low production and altitude, gives very ripe, concentrated and with good potential for aging fruit. The blend of this cava is dominated by grape Xarel·lo from several vineyards aged between 30 and 70 years, highlighting a vineyard "La Vinya del Corn" (Vine Horn) with over 70 years located in Sant Joan Samora . PROCESS AND PREPARATION: The varieties used for the production of base wine are the Xarel·lo and Parellada. They are harvested in mid-September and early October respectively. The grapes come from carefully selected strains of the family estate of Sant Quinti de Mediona, area with calcareous soils that make it excellent for growing traditional varieties.
